This is a good idea that everyone should go to.  To stay organized, it's ok for people to add to this thread.  Link the event to the calendar too, so it shows up on the list of upcoming events.

Take-out parking lot: one between the Archives and the Supreme Parking lot

Vigil 7-9 pm

A permit has been secured and the following is very important exert

Please note that vehicles will not be permitted access on the Parliament Hill. All signs if any must be hand carried and not staked in the grounds or attached to any fixtures. Structures of any sort are strictly forbidden on Parliament Hill. Canoes, boats and crafts are not allowed on Parliament Hill. Finally your group is responsible for cleaning the area that you have used.

It is generally preferable that activities on Parliament Hill be held between the Centennial Flame and the steps at the north end of the centre walkway.  We ask that you respect the safety of all concerned by avoiding areas under construction.

Since boats are not allowed on the Hill... bring your paddle and wear a lifejacket (and skirt for the kayakers)

Paul Dewar MP of Ottawa Centre ... will make an appearance.
Les Amis has also sent out press releases to several media outlets about the Vigil/Protest.

Guest Speakers
Becky Mason ... tha name sasys it all
Jim Coffey ... Esprit
Doug Skeggs ... Les Amis
Rob Monti  ... paddler extraordinaire

oh on anther note please don't add to this thread ....that is what that should be "discussed"  in the discussion section.

Larry

Larry, I think that the forum is misleading, since we have the two headings:

Paddling
Plan trips, trip reports, and festival postings

Discussion
Gear Reviews, Technique, Buy & Sell

Based upon that, I'd be led to believe that anything related to planning a trip should NOT go in the Discussion forum, unless the "Gear Reviews, Technique, Buy & Sell" is modified to include "Plan trips"...

Anyway, that's no big deal...

Also, as for Parliament Hill, I suppose we could leave the boats at the locks. Are we trying to organise a shuttle too, to go back to Bate Island afterwards to pick up vehicles?
