Title: Early Ottowa run on Sunday
Post by: Annie V. on July 18, 2008, 09:50:10 AM
Hi Everybody,

Chris F., maybe Christian and I are meeting with Collin at River Run Sunday morning for an early paddle. We are planning to meet up at 7h30 at Champlain.

This will be a fast run since we are planning to be out of the water at 2PM.

Hope to see you there

Annie

Annie and Christian....I'm so sorry, but I have to take my kids this Sunday.....that means I'm unable to go. They win over paddling every time...

Sorry for the late notice and hope you have a great time.

Chris

Hey!

Please see my post in the thread "Weekend plans?".

--C.

Christian, if you're still up, I can go and pick you up. I'll be out for most of the day tomorrow, but you can e-mail me at avalade@videotron.ca. I can pick you up.

If nobody else is thinking of coming, we might not go to Champlain bridge and meet at river run.

Hey guys -

I'll most likely camp at RR Sat night and join you guys Sunday for this trip.
I'm assuming a 9AM meet at RR front gate.  Gimme a buzz on the cell 613-823-4385
if there's any change, thanks.

Hi Annie,

Am hoping to paddle Sunday with you. I won't meet you at Champlain, though. It adds 1/2 hr or so to my drive.

If anyone responds to carpooling, I'll meet them at the Park & Ride at Eagleson and the Queensway.

I could definitely do a fast paddle on Sunday (as well as Monday)

Julia, what time at the Park and Ride?
That is far better for me than meeting at Champlain, too!

Annie - If you're meeting at Champlain at 7:30, does that mean you'll be meeting at  about 9:15 at Rinver Run?
I need to give Mike some definite plans when I call him tonight since he's offline.

Jamie - Annie is meeting at Champlain at 7:30, so if we're at the Park & Ride at 7:50, that should be plenty early.

Hi Julia,

I have not problem meeting at Park and Play for car pooling. The goal is to meet at RR at 9AM. I'm not quite sure where is Park and Play, so if you could give me some indication on how to get there, I would appreaciate it. Should we meet there for 7h45?

The Park&Ride is on the south-east corner of the 417 and Eagleson Rd.

See you around 7:45 - 7:50, then!

Looks like about six paddling. I can throw the racks on the truck and it become the "gear pig". Myself and a passenger and if there are four others that will fit int a car. presto, only two vehicals.

But hey I am easy.

Black lid, orange kokatat, black/blue wavesport, yellow paddle blades,  black/blue ego from getting worked by Phil.

How did 6 people turn into a group of 12?  Awesome.

Hey Colin,

Here's a portion of a picture you took of me a few weeks ago, as I was about to discover the "Mystery Line" at Little Trickle... A picture is worth 1024 32-bit words!

For all,

Great trip! For me, EJ's presence was a big bonus! It was great to surf the same wave at the same time as a world champion!

Thanks all, and let's do it again soon!

Good running into the group running shuttle.  It sounds like everyone had a great time.  Colin was very proud to show off the damage that he did to his boat (possibly from the increased level of abuse in the recent weeks).  With all that volume, you'd think he could float a little tube of contact cement with him.

7/8 hole was super for park and play, btw.  It's a friendly little hole to get thrashed in.

I need a big can of the stuff.

Abuse .... nope .... just stepping it up quite a few notches

Pretty cool when you can get 6 feet of your boat behind you to disappear in a hole and still keep it upright!

Kayakers do a crazy thing and try to avoid seem lines - not back surf them! But then again, we like to stay in our boats as well.
Fun trip! It was nice to meet some of the newer CdB faces.
