Any paddlers want to join us for an after work run down the petite nation on thursday evening. Living gatineau at 4 pm and back in town by 8:30 pm. A 2 hour class 2-3+ run. A good intermediate run.

Considered joining, but had to be a dad last night.
Instead, joined John and Rachel at the slalom spot downtown around lunch time.
How was Petite Nation?
Is it the right time to do it?

It was worth going. The travel time from Gatineau is just over one hour and the run itself can be completed in 2 hours. We run upper canyon twice and it took 2.5 hrs.

Oh yeah.... the level was 37 at the time and the Canions had wavetrains comparable to Upper No Name at say 10. The complexity of the run is much higher and the run can be quite intresting. The rapid near the kayak school was similar to Angel's Kiss (minus the playspot). The remaining rapids were comparable to Black Velvet but longer.
