Hi All,
A friend lives near the Alonso Wright bridge and I'll be visiting him this weekend, but I'd like to get some paddling in.
Is there anything interesting on the Gatineau in this area?
Thanks!

PLENTY of whitewater and possibility of hole riding BUT it is a remnant of the logging days and there is huge spikes and eyelets stuck in rocks here and there - confirmed by me ?mid 90s as during a particular summer of draught I walked amongst the rapids and saw the remnants = so generally it is not recommended..except possibly in very high water - that being said I have run the section 2-3 times just to say I had done it but stayed away from holes;
there was no play spots back then but we were in Crossfire type kayaks, are there friendly smalls holes now or large surfing waves!? - would need to inspect in various water levels

very high water (last summer!? because of brown water (rain))

Thank you Claude for the history lesson!
Maybe we'll make it a "run through the easy stuff" day. But, I will definitely stop for a much closer look than the last time I was there.
