Looking for a group to run the gatineau this sunday. There will be some good play spots on the gatineau if the levels stay the same.
Richard

If levels go above 20 I will go with you. It was at 15 as of yesterday. 23 would be ideal.
Mikey

I'm interested in going too. I'll confirm a bit later this week.
Annie

I haven't run it yet this year but I'd love to head out on Sunday and give it a go.
Dave

I'm good to go!

The level should probably stay the same, around 15, it may go up depending on the amount of rain they got.
I've paddled the gatineau from levels ranging from 5 to over 30. Any levels is goog for me.
People who are interested give me a call. Cause I live in val des monts, qc. So you guys have to organise your car pooling from ottawa.
A good time to meet at bonnet rouge is 10:30 am. I could meet you guys at the intersection of the 105 and 366 at around 9:00 am.

I am heading to HT in the morning. Going to spend the day there.
Jo and I are planning on hitting the Gat on Sunday. We are keen to arrange carpooling from downtown Ottawa.
We live in the Glebe. Give a holler if you want to work something out.

I'm in for Sunday. I'm also in for carppoling. I leave in Gatineau near Champlain bridge. I can arrange to meet somehere. Let me know a convenient place.

Great, I guess the gatineau is a go for sunday. I'm living town until saturday. Annie if who want to car pool with me we could meet at the tim hortons on mont?e paiement at the IGA, or you could meet me at my place in val des monts, it's only 12 minutes from the IGA.
My truck is able to take boats up to 7 feet long max.

I am here right now. High tension is in but on the way down. I would guess the level is 18. It is good, but borderline.
I am still keen to run the river on Sunday.
What time should we meet? I will be with Jo and Simon.

Ok Richard. At what time would you like to meet at the Tim Horton?

How about Subway/Giant Tiger plaza in Wakefield at 9am?

How about Subway/Giant Tiger plaza in Wakefield at 9am?
Great idea - great spot - will meet you there myself as I live in the Hautes-Plaines area - does anyone else need a ride - I can detour to ?downtown Ottawa if need be!

Excellent!!!
I'll see you guys at
9:00 AM Sunday
Wakefield Subway/Giant Tiger Plaza

Hi all. I'd be in too!
I have access to a car these days, but would still prefer to carpool since the car does not have a roof rack. I am in Sandy Hill in Ottawa, I can meet anyone pretty much anywhere, but Wakefield seems a bit far, maybe we could arrange to meet closer to Ottawa? Annie, I can go to your place in the morning, for instance. Let's see if we can arrange something!

Christian, I'm in Westboro. and I have a roof rack.
Ian

Hi Ian!
Yes, I have an approximate idea of your location--could you be able to swing by my house Sunday morning then? It's easy to get on Highway 5 from there, even with the construction on King Edward. I live at 87 Goulburn Apt. 2, it's off Laurier East past Chapel going east. Let me know if it's possible! Cheers...
--Christian

No problem. 8.30am ok?
I could probably take one other person.
Ian
-
Great Ian.
Sunday at 8:30 at 87 Goulburn apt. 2, I'll be waiting for you with my boat on the front yard!
--Christian
-
Am I too late to join the party?
Ian, I live in Westboro too...I could meet at your place before you head downtown for Christian if that is okay with you.

It's never too late. I'm at 69 Ross Ave. You'll see a blue Honda parked on Spencer just past the junction with Ross, which may or may not have a boat on it. Better make it 8.20 to allow for boat loading etc.

Great Ian. Actually, I'll try get to your place by 8:10.

It seems all the car-pooling stuff has been arranged ... I'm at Woodroffe/Baseline ... hmm

I didn't hear from Richard, so if anyone wants to carppol still I'm up for it. Otherwise I'll meet in Wakefield.
Call me if you are interrested 819-962-8555

OK - add Dave B. and myself to the mix. Will most likely be carpooling from the
King Edward/Rideau LCBO. If anyone needs a ride I could squeeze one more in;
lemme know.

Well since you live near the Champlain Bridge on the Quebec side ... I could drop by your place on the way through about 8:30 am
Directions to your place would be helpful.

I'm out. Don't wait for me.
Have fun everyone!!

Don't forget to stop at Transformer on Sunday. :o
I managed to squeeze myself in-between a bunch of international hot shots and got a couple of great surfs on it with a couple of 360 and back surfing for good measure, before I sped back down to catch up with the rest of the CdeB mob.
I think I was smiling all the way home...
The wave looks impressive, but it's silk smooth.
I'd say 8ft high and the radius at the base is very decent.
Might have been able to surf it in the Centrifuge. But the 'old' All Star was right at home and knew the way apparently.

Great day - great company - big passes - big swim - big ice cream/poutine - big traffic jam...anyone see what caused it!? I sneaked out of it at Cross Loop road at FarmPoint and once back on the 105 there was no traffic to be found!?
-
Traffic jam: small fender-bender on a two-lane road, no one seemed hurt.
We had a great day on the river. Apart from the pros and a group of dutch paddlers at Haute Tension, playing in the great wave there, we had the river to ourselves! It alaways amazes me that such a wonderful river section, where beginners and pros can have fun running the SAME rapids just by chosing different lines, is not full of paddlers every weekend. It's not that far!
On top of that, the people at Bonnet Rouge might lose their right to run a business there as the land is zoned as agricultural. I understand that this the way that Quebec protects its river shores from big cheesy commercial developments, but it would be a sad loss. So I encourage everyone to paddle that river and sign the petition at Bonnet Rouge so that we can keep this very useful and comnfortable take-out place!
I have some good footage of Larry and Mikey in the Transformer. I'll need to take all these clips and assemble a best-of...
And let's give Annie the credit she deserves: she had three good rides on the Transformer, which tired her out completely... This might account for her decision to run Haute Tension and then Le Mur, both preceded by her kayak...

We were thinking about the backdoor routes too ... but don't know the area as well as you.
It delayed our arrival back home by about 30 minutes or so.
A small fender bender? It looked like a head on since there were 2 cars facing each other in the north bound lanes ... their front ends crumpled.
