Title: gatineau whitewater festival
Post by: liz edwards on August 18, 2009, 05:10:32 PM
I was wondering if anyone is going to the festival. on the 29th and 30th. I may. I think if you want to get in on the deal including dinner you have to register  by the 21st(?). But you can just show up too. I believe.

I have to start teaching on Monday so I may or may not paddle the Sunday...either that or a quick paddle.

Hi Liz,

I'm seriously thinking about going too. I have not look at the "package", but I'll do so and let you know what I'm planning to do.

Sounds good Annie. If we don't do the package, I think it just means we are responsible for our own dinner.

I'm in as well, except that I haven't registered yet... I'd like to do both days too.

Alright.

The Gatineau level now is 15.5, which is the same as 10 days ago during the Beast Feast, so it will be around that too this weekend unless something dramatic happens!

Here's the plan. Sara and I would like to go but she has Ultimate Frisbee playoffs Sunday. So we'll likely go up and camp at Bonnet Rouge Friday evening and paddle Saturday. Myself, I would like to camp again and paddle Sunday too, but that's only if I can bum a ride back... Will someone have room for me on the way back? Let me know so that I can register us if required.

P. S. I just got myself a 14' light touring kayak that's outfitted (and paddles) like a whitewater boat. I'm rather tempted to bring it on the Gatineau... It was a good deal, slightly used...

I'm not sure if I'm going to paddle on Sunday as I have work to do on the weekend. But I will meet you, Sara and Jack up there. I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon sometime. I guess it might rain. Boo hiss.

We'll be at the high school as it's a festival and we'll probably take one of the shuttles to the river so it's hard to say when we'll be on. It's not a typical river trip. Are you planning to go to the festival?

Unfortunatly, I will not go to the Gatineau festival this year. I'm off paddling for a few days. Even tho it is very hard, I decided to follow those instructions. I wish I could have made it   :'(

Have a nice weekend on the Gatienau River.
