To all the nutty cold water paddlers out there who don't know when to stop...Lets go for a leisurely surf session this sunny Saturday. With all the rain today and tomorrow, levels should be okay for Sewer Wave! I'm camping Friday and will be back in Ottawa in the late morning Saturday, so say we meet at Champlain Bridge or at Sewer Wave at 2pm?
Cheers,
Paul ;D

Sounds good!

I may see you there ::)

That would be great Mark! With you me, Christian and now Tibor, that makes 4 and I hope Sarah will be there too. I heard we may even see Sandra K! Sewer Wave, Saturday, 2pm!
Cheers,
Paul ;D

Where do you meet for the Sewer Wave?
-
Hi Brian,
You cross the bridge (Champlain) to go over to the Quebec side. At the end of the bridge, you turn immediately right and drive about a kilometer to a four way stop where you will see a corner store. Turn right again and drive about three blocks. You can't go any further or you will land in Sewer wave and that would pretty much ruin our park and play sessions. See you Sunday!
Cheers,
Paul
PS I think Christian actually had provided a map (I always forgewt the names of the actual streets...) so I'll look for it and add it to this message if I find it.

There: at the end of B?gin, east of the Champlain bridge and west of the Chaudi?re Falls. It's in the so-called Br?beuf park.

How clean is the water in front of that sewer?
Richard
-
not so clean but on the wave is fine the eddy drains out into the current below the wave sooooooooooo just dont play in the eddy
-
the level is now above 3.6 ! :o that red arrow is not pionting to sewer wave , its pretty much 15 feet from shore , not 300 feet like in the pictue , this must be from late spring , flooded out .
-
3.635 is the latest. What about Deschenes?
"It is a very fun hole at 3.5 - 3.6 on the Britannia gauge.
It is a very fun wave from 3.6 - 3.9.
Above 3.9 its flooded; go to Champlain."

Anyhow, I'm going to scramble out there and it would be nice o figure which boat to bring. I believe I should bring a longer boat (if 7-3 is long) if it is Sewer Wave; is that still likely true at this level?

7.3 is great at this level!

i got wrecked at hogs back it a super high level the water is just pumping. After running the doubble drop it pushed me into a whirlpool opposite the falls it was alot worse then say the room on doom on iorn ring because the eddy was the size of my boat. i could not get any speed to get out i got worked in there for about a minute or more then got pined upsidedown ended up swimming and got held of a good 45 seconds under water getting hit aganst the rocks it finaly let me out and i could hardly breath of 2 min i also lost my nice AT paddle dam >:( we did not have safty set up bacuse i ran it many times befor but never at high water it was unexpected
so i would not recomend running hogs back inless you are in a creek boat then the fall in less then 10 feet tall
my beat downs are not from bad lines there are just no way past the eddy even if you think there is. it happened twice got out the first time after 2 min but was not that lucky the second :-[ i still want to try again ;D

That sucks. Though I'm really glad you're okay Adam!
