Title: Has anyone seen the Ottawa this low, at this time of year?
Post by: mudman on April 03, 2010, 11:17:13 AM
I can't remember the river ever being this low in the spring.  I went out yesterday and it looks like the river level has dropped about two feet in three weeks.  This doesn't bode well for paddling in Ottawa this summer. :'(

Has anyone been out to the Training Wave, center channel, Champlain rapids?  What's it like at this water level? : ???

Let me know, if you know.

Thanks,
Renny :)

Unless we have lots of rain, we are in for a very dry season. The gatineau is very low also. Maybe the wave at bonnet rouge is going to be in this season, last time 6 years ago.

Paddled Champlain Friday with Tibor and Kelly. Low, low water, like in August. Center wave is not in yet!

This is what the Lorne rapids looked like yesterday... Garburator is barely in, maybe PushButton is there. --C.
