hi
We're in a heat wave ... yahoo
Have you lost your MOJO or your eskimo roll somewhat failing you? ...
No better opportunity than this Thursday evening ....
Bate Island 6:30pm to til dusk
Refreshments/wings @ Whispers in Westboro after
You can certainly show up earlier but the bridge traffic makes it a pain for me to get there earlier. You should have already learned the concept of doing the eskimo roll. I can't or do not want to start from ground zero. Actually it will be a "bracing and rolling" skills improvement session
Bring your boat/gear and a sense of humour. If there are lots of people then we can pair off ...
I will bring some teaching aids and provide some tips ... I wear sparkly red helmet for those that don't know me.
Larry
PS ... if you want to choose a different time and place ... well that would be considered a <New Topic>, so start your own thread.

Hi Larry,
I would love to come, hopefully I'll be able to organize a boat. I was able to roll last summer, but must have lost it somewhere over the last winter, so I hope I still qualify for this session.
I've never been on Bate Island - where exactly will we meet?
Thanks!

It's in the middle of the Champlain bridge, which is an extension of Island Park. --Christian

I?ll definitely be there, my rolls are not as gracious as I would like them to be!
Cheers!

Chris and I plan to be there as well.

Sara and I should be there too. Ahh the call of the cold beer afterwards... I'll bring a crazy boat, I have trouble rolling it. But I can't blame the equipment, as it's the same boat that the (somewhat) legendary Dubside uses for his Greenland rolling exploits:

Google maps provides a good aerial shot... most likely on the NE corner below the rapids ... there is a small "beach" or a place where the boats are launched

Short cut to Bate Is. believe it or not. If you are coming north on Island Park and come to a jam around Scott Street, just as you pass through Scottt there is a street interesecting Island Park on your left. You can turn left on to this street, follow along bearing right all the way. You will come back to Island Park just south of the bridge.
I'll be there to lend a bow to hip flick from.

Yes, we'll discuss. My suggestion is to have as planned, but as a potluck, or BYOFAB (BYO food and booze). It's time we have a summer activity! --C.
