Only four of us on Babyface. Thank you, Gatfest.

That's OK, the Gat wasn't all that crowded either. We could of used a couple hundred more padlers and a visit from the Grim Reaper to really kick it up good like the crowd did below:

Hey... Too bad we missed an empty Main channel, but the Gatineau is always an entertaining party. As I am used to say, a canoe rescueing party.
Well, roles reversed a bit this year. My plan was to surf all waves on the way down. I surfed the little wave at the top of Lucifer's rapids (right next to the tree trunk that's stuck), then floated down to the 'Ange Gardien', where I bumped Adam Chappel off--sorry again. I went on to surf the next feature 'Agneau de Dieu', aka Rototiller. Well, after a nice smooth side surf, I paddled myself out of this one (backwards, i.e. not knowing where I was heading), only to fall into the famous Anus, which looked innocuous enough from shore: it is indeed a very small pourover right now. Just... very steep. And sticky. I think I rolled 4-5 time before it sucked me out of the boat and 'eliminated' me, paddle and boat separately.
And I had been drinking with Ben til 3 am the night before. Oh well.

P.S. Thanks Ben for the photos! Here's both of us trying two lines in the 'Seuil des c?dres', a 'stay right side up' kind of thing...

Counted 9 worthy play features on Gat that day.
