I saw today on the Rapid Magazine Facebook page that the water levels on the Lower Madawaska at Palmer Rapids and below are really up to what they were at PalmerFest in May. Is anyone interested in a trip up there on Monday, which also looks like the nicest day of the weekend?

Hi Brian,
I would principally be interested in doing something on Monday, but would still have to get my kids organized, so not 100% sure. Seems like everyone else is going to the US, right? I have only done the Madawaska at lower water levels, will it be much more difficult?

Monday is the only day I can go. I have paddled Palmer Rapids with the gauge there being 26 and 62. 62 was much better and indeed easier than the lower one. It is a great place to do as much or as little as one wants. My wife also is looking for an outing where she can sit, read and watch, probably laughing her head off at me.

The last day for which a level is recorded for the Lower Mad is Aug. 30. The level was 48 cms, not bad for this time of year. I am going to guess that the level on Monday would be around 40 to 45...just a guess. Are you still going? What time are you planning to meet and where?
Thanks

I would still like to go and can arrange to do it pretty well anytime. So what works for you and any others interested like Dani?

Here's the link for real time water levels just select Palmers Rapids.
I don't remember where to get the conversion from the OWL levels
to the guage levels but just plot a couple months and compare it
to the OWL readings. It looks like it'a around 40 or so now.

I might be going to Palmers Moday with some friends or if you are
interested we could run the lower Madawaska. It's a pretty easy run.

Steve, Dani and any others
How about we meet at Eagleson at 9 or 9:30 and then agree whether we go to Palmer Rapids or the Lower Mad?

Great, I would like to join you! Preferably for more than "just" playing, so e.g. the lower Mad. I'd also like to leave not too late, but 9 would still be ok for me.

Let's try to coordinate with Steve for the Lower Mad and get a good shuttle set up. He is ringing me back later this evening and then we set things in stone.

I'm interested in the lower Mad. Would like to go early as I need to be back in the city for a soccer game.

We have agreed to meet at Eagleson between 0845 and 0900 to then meet Steve Harrington at the Tim Hortons in Renfrew at 0940. I can put another kayak on my car to car pool.

Ok, I'll be there, and it would be great if you could take me and my kayak, I hate driving...
Thanks & see you,
