Yep! Opted for no skullcap and the weekend! Great choice! Gloves will go off soon!
Paddled Saturday with Alex and Richard! It was too crowded at Champlain in the AM.. 10 slalom boaters...10 surfers and 10 playboaters... So Went to Sewer Wave to check out Mark's wave and it was tiny and diagonal and wasnt surfing too good at this level..Richard opted for the one "river right" of the island.. You have to ferry out from above and its a long ferry back so swimming is not an option.. Alex and I were waiting in the eddy behind the island in case something happened...Some geese on the island were nesting and hissing at me.. these things are mean. Anyways.. back to the wave.. its alot bigger than it looks from shore.. bigger than champlain for sure and a stellar surf!
We were practicing down river moves on the wavetrain at sewer as they were alot bigger than usual! Alex was trying wavewheels with the rockstar and his knees popped out and he swam... At this level.. a swim could really suck...eddys are way down and current is fast.. good thing we caught up to him quick. ;D
