Hi, we are forming a group to paddle the bottom section of the Coulonge river as a 2 day trip this weekend, shuttling in to Lac Jim. Reports are that water level is currently manageable, although some minor features are washed out. There are a couple of "big nasties" which must be portaged.
A shuttle could be arranged at 10:00 am from Fort Coulonge, expect to pay between $30 to $50 depending on how many come out (max 7, shuttle 215$), BYO food/tent.
A very basic map of the route can be found at http://www.oocities.org/coulonge@rogers.com/route.htm
55km, including many swifts. The group is currently composed of a few canoers from the Y. kayakers welcome. If you'd like to paddle tandem we can easily find a partner for you within our group.

glad to see a canoe friendly, overnight trip being posted. Unfortunately I have commitments of the non-paddling variety for this weekend. Don't give up, there are a some boaters who enjoy tripping in this club...
Have fun
