Title: Upper Petawawa Saturday June 11
Post by: Bill Schlarb on June 09, 2011, 10:35:32 PM
Hi folks,

Rumours are confirmed, the Upper Petawawa is a go for this Saturday.

As per the boys' recommendation from last weekend, the meeting place will the Shell station in Cobden for breakfast at 8:30AM,
9:00AM if you want to skip breakfast.
GPS co-ordinates  45.626203,-76.878249

Google recommends 1.5 hours to get there from downtown Ottawa at legal highway speeds.

The river is class 3 - 4 with a few larger drops to spice things up.

Bring walking shoes, lots of water, bug juice and some method of carrying or dragging
your creeker or river running boat the 4 km to the put-in. Saturday is forecast to be 20 degrees so the walk wouldn't be too warm.

The level will be ~100 cu-m/s (~3.1 m on the gauge). More technical than what we've done so far I suppose...
