Hi folks,
For those interested, a few of us a heading down to do a couple runs of the Taylorville section.
Here's a link to the AWA site with a river description:
http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/2612/
It's a fairly short run with six class III-IV rapids and is a good intro to creeking.
Current plans are to leave from my home (361 Viewmount Dr.) at 8:00 AM
Since this is a release river running from 10:00AM to 2:00PM, you can expect to be home for dinner Saturday evening.
If you have questions or want to go, give me call after 6:00PM Friday at (613) 224-8507

We had a great day on the Taylorville section of the Beaver. You might think that attempting to cross the U. S. border on the eve of the 10th anniversary of the 09/11/2001 massacre would be a hassle, but they pretty much waved us in, despite the fact that we had Paul in the car...
Bill and I did a couple relaxed laps of the run and we met up with Joanne, Mike, Megan and John Rathwell. I believe that Mike did a total of 5 laps! Paul was our camera man.
It's a really nice section, each rapid has a couple lines, and it ends with a nice surf wave.
There were only 10 paddlers on the river that day: us 6 and 4 from the U. S. : a canadian majority...
Click on the little movie below for a taste (just resize the window bigger).
