Almost every september/october he is sighted! See the Boatwerks forum for details!

You'll have to excuse me for not getting the joke, as I haven't been around the paddling forums for very long...
...but there really was a big 'ole log rolling around below brain douche. It was a genuine heads-up.
Anyway, here's what he looked like:
o==================o
ETA: Maybe he appears every fall because as the water cools and becomes more dense, he becomes more buoyant, and comes up for some sun. Anyone with a ring on their pinky care the weigh in?

Hey Ryan--my excuses too.
But I could not resist! Believe it or not, I am not poking fun at you. Instead, at a very specific person: our own peculiar (but appreciated) Paul, and his post on Boatwerks in October 2007 about a bear seen at the Lorne which resulted in a thread 9 pages long with more than 100 replies! And at the Pobo incident too, where someone was posing as a troll on Boatwerks, just search that forum for info.
As for logs, yes they are a danger. And for even worse, wait til March-April when we surf at Champlain, dodging ice chunks the size of a concert piano...

No offense taken. I did a search, as suggested, and am now well versed in the lore of bears at the lorne, as well as POBO's opinions on a number of issues.

I've seen bears at the Lorne (three) but Pobo is elusive...
Paul ;)

Paul, I thought that bear you and I spotted a couple of years ago WAS Pobo. No?

After 40, the eyesight starts going south...
Paul:)

That's brutal! But I did get my goggles fixed today.
