New Years' Eve Sewer Wave Paddle.
The temperature is predicted to be +3 and levels keep going up so Christiang, myself and Caroline are planning to surf Sewer Wave this Saturday at 1:30pm. If you have the cold water experience and the equipment and the skill level and would like to join us, feel free and welcome to do so! Please no beginners as this a "self rescue required" session. But feel free to come and cheer and join us at Whispers afterwards for hot chocolate!
See you Saturday!

But yeah.. Level peaked to 58.55 yesterday night..noticed that and told adam and all the guys... I was so pumped!
But I am just getting back from there now.. I went and checked on my way to work and level is 58.45... Should normally be in and real nice but there is nothing there... Not one bit of foam and the wave is flatter than a pancake. There was absolutely nothing to do there besides ride the wave train and it seemed like it was somewhat icy downstream. Not sure as it was dark...
Id still go for a beer though haha.

Well it is always level dependent. It's just an excuse to put your gear on in December/January and float your boat, plus a surf would be nice but ....if there's no wave there we might just go to Champlain and play on small waves by the wall or just head strait down to Whispers, s'all good to me as long as it's fun and safe!

I might come out, but have never been to sewer wave before.
Can anyone give me some directions on how to get there?
-
Heres a link to my blog Jon! All there is to know is here. Let me know if you end up going, I can also meet you! Oh and dont be shy if you wanna bring the Superfun haha ;)

1:12pm just checked sewer Wave. It's in! Actually it's green but very surf able with crashing wave above and crashing wave below which might actually be better!
Directions: take Champlain bridge going towards Gatineau. At the end of the bridge, turn right at the lights on Lucerne Street. Drive about 1 kilometer to Begin Street, turn right again and drive to the end of street to the statue. You have arrived!
See you tomorrow,
Paul :)
Ps I also checked Champlain and it is flatish....:)

Was there too today. Nothing at Champlain, I saw the rocks at the bottom where the wave would be. Sewer is 'in' if you're not picky, although the 3rd wave is nice but shallow and catch-on-the fly, plus you have to dodge ice chunks. Looks like I will pass this opportunity and wait for March... --C.

S'all good Christiang! Since I do need AT least two more experienced paddlers in order to go and no one has said definitely yes, I guess I'll pass too and wait t'il March...
Happy New Year Everyone!

I might still be in depending on the weather.

Hey Jon is your avatar an Ampeg bass head?
Kelly

Thanks Jon,
I think 3 paddlers is really the minimum for safety in this weather so I'll check the posts in the morning and decide then.
