Title: Pool sessions: on honour system...
Post by: ChristianG on February 28, 2012, 02:39:38 PM
Hello all.

The pool sessions are very enjoyable: we have music, entertainment, and a pub nearby for refreshments afterwards.  Don't miss this opportunity to come practice rolling, flatwater tricks (some of us are close to doing bow stalls!) or just socialising!

Just a reminder: most people have paid/will pay the 10$ fee per session, and I will nag no one about payments. But this does not mean that the sessions are free: we had to pay close to 1000$ upfront in November, and need to recoup a good chunk of it. So if you invite non-members, or members of other clubs, please remind them that they should have the courtesy to at least offer to pay...

Have a good time and see you on the water!

Didnt alex give you 20$ for both of us last time!? I also made it clear on Boatwerks what the fees were!

Hi J-N.

Don't worry, Alex paid without being asked--nice of him, as always, and so did many others.

However... What Boatwerks post are you talking about? The search feature on that board
does not work. If you made it clear there that the CdB sessions were not free, well, it
appears that some Boatwerks forum members do not read very well...

Those who came and did not pay (in one case more than once) could have at least discussed
modes of payment, offered cash, or if they were advanced paddlers, they could have offered tips
to less experienced paddlers. Heck, one non-member (Dan F.) does pay AND gives free tips and advice!
We welcome everyone to our pool sessions, subject to capacity, but we had to pay for those
sessions in advance. If I go to another club's pool session, I would never expect it to be free
and I would approach the organisers with cash in my hand; I believe it is reasonable to
expect the same from others.

Of course I will check the club P. O. Box in the next few days, perhaps I will find something there;
if so then ignore the above...

Ha! Ha! You wrote:

It's 10$ also for non-members...

Well I figured people would catch that! If members pay 10$ for their OWN pool session... Non members would have to do so too..Figured it was common sense!.. Ill fix my post on BW! haha
