Title: Mississippi River at Lanark
Post by: wyszard on March 15, 2012, 10:41:18 AM: Does anybody know what is happening to the Mississippi River at Lanark section, might make for a small decent trip on Sunday for those people (laid back & lazy like myself) who do not want to do Blakeney Rapids.

This section of the easy Class II and a few easy III's, great for a season starter, if the water level is high enough.

Check out Playfairville, Ontario on google maps, which is the take-out, put-in is at Sheridan Rapids Road, where the bridge crosses the river.

My friend really doesn't want to do blakeney, so this might be a good alternative.

I will scout it as well as blakeney on friday afternoon.

this is real close to my place as well.

The link bellow stated that it was around 35 CMS and now its 18 and up!

I like to go on that one Saturday and discuss with the friends at Whisper and I send a email to Jim

more concerned about knowing if all sections are open, rather than the level.

will keep watching to see what evolves.

No ice that I could see, not even on the shoreline.

I might still go on sunday, but I have never been down it, so it will be slow going/scouting I guess.
