I wont paddle tonight, as my face is a bit raw from wiping out on my mountain bike yesterday!
And I wouldn't want to get infected!!
I may stop buy to say hi, or join you guys for a beer, as I had to clean up yesterday, and skipped out on the beer, haha!

Post by: FeinDenz on June 28, 2012, 05:18:13 PM: It's 5:15 pm Thursday now, I'll approach Pont Champlain from the Aylmer side by crossing Portage Bridge from downtown, might get there before 6pm if not waiting for all that Island Parkway parking lot traffic! Hope to get a few rolls right, after Joey Hitchins of Liquid Skills gave me some impromptu (& free!) good rolling hands-on assistance a few weeks ago at Bate Island.

I'll use my Big EZ, I haven't fitted my new untouched South Africa-made Fluid "Nemesis" to my feet & size yet.

Then had a beer & soup at Whispers, NO other CDB member turned up. But I did watch some of Italy-Germany 2-1 Eurocup soccer.

Tomorrow & over the weekend I shall be at Westboro or/and Pont Champlain a few times, while about 20 CbDers are at Mini Beast Feast up the Ottawa River.

I'm happy to report that last Friday evening at Westboro Beach I did 3 on-side rolls & 1 off-side roll with NO wet exits. No-one around to t-rescue me so I quit while ahead. All the accumulated recent guidance helped, I may be back to my former rolling ability.

My diary reminds me that Martin towed me for 20+ minutes to the bank last year today or yesterday, an anniversary! Hopefully I won't put anyone through that again. Well, not often...

Planning to be in Ottawa this Thursday and hoping to meet up with some of the club to paddle Champlain. Still meeting at 6:00 pm?? I will have my own kayak with air bags, and my roll has greatly improved. Not perfect but much better.

It's tiny 8' waterfall with a completely safe pool to land in. A good place to practice a technique called "boofing". With the bit of rain we got, now would be a good time to go! Last night it was running. Anyone interested?

I'm out, I have to take care of my climbing club a bit. I tried Dessert wave (Remics) yesterday, it really is a pain to get back on it, you have to walk upstream in a foot of water for 100 meters if not 200. R???, it's almost as annoying as getting back on habitat 67 but, at least, this last one is worth the effort. Good luck!

Talked to Bill last night, and we thought of hitting Remic Wave instead of paddling near Champlain bridge. A good meeting spot is the 'Remic Rapid' parking lot on the Ottawa River Parkway, downstream of the Champlain bridge but just upstream of the Parkdale exit. Paddlers of all skills can play there, with or without surfing! I'll be there around 18:00. --C.

Should Arianne's shoulder have been ok, we would have been 4 paddling chix to show up, all French. Plus, I found a new one yesterday on the shore, she was aiming to paddle alone with no dry gear, not even a wet suit. She was so thankful for the dry top I loan her plus the 2 rescues that I think we'll have another female member soon.

I, too, love to paddle with chix. :-*
