Bonjour ? tous.
? participer?
On esp?re de voir en grand nombre!
Hello everyone.
The club was contacted by a television crew working for the CBC television in French for the show "Ottawa Underground" which presents the city of Ottawa under a more "adventurous" light. They want to organise an event in town with the club members, whether francophone or not.
This event will consist in a friendly surf competition at the so-called "Remic Wave" which is located in the middle of the river at the Kitchissippi lookout (where the inukshuk-like statues are), followed by a picnic at the same place. The date would be Sunday August 19th in the afternoon, around 14:00. Can you tell us if you would be interested in participating?
We hope that you will come in great numbers!

Sounds like a great way to get the Club's profile better known in the community! Should be fun. Count me in! Martin and Richard, you should definitely be there!
Paul:)

Yes I would do this, especially as it is just a couple days after my bday. Btw I have no idea where remic wave is.
-
If you paddle at Champlain and you let yourself drift down about 750 meters right in the middle of the river, then you will surf the best wave in the world, Remics!

We should be able to make it. We've been parking and playing at Pushbutton the past few weekends.

Good! We need a good showing! It's a chance to be on tv.
-
Good!
It's going to be at the same place and time as the "BAWI International Stone Balance Festival", where the maker of those stone scupltures, John Felice Ceprano, will be featured. So it's going to be even more interesting!
We need many participants, and it's a good opportunity to make ourself, our sport and our river better known to the general public!
As of now, the meeting time is scheduled to be 13:30 at the Remic parking lot on the Ottawa River Parkway, just to the north of Tuney's Pasture.

Okay CdB Boys and CdB Girls,
Time to cowboy-up and cowgirl-up up and come support your White Water Club! There will be a BBQ hosted by the CBC after the paddling, with prizes for the daring paddlers who surf Remic Wave, plus there is an Inukshuk statue Exposition Festival at Remic park that day so bring the whole family, to see the Inuit Statues and come paddle , come support your club and maybe we will see you on TV!!!
See you all this Sunday at 1:30PM at Remic Park, off the Ottawa River Parkway!
Cheers,

A huge thank you to all who came surf Remic wave Sunday. With their camera lens, the tv crew were able to get close-up views of surfers on the wave! I do not know when the program will air, but when I find out I will let you know.

Paul wore an all-yellow outfit just for that! I think Denzil took some photos too.
