Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this the first fatality in the Stikine Canyon?

Interesting story about the Stikine, the most difficult river in north America that they say.

Yes, it's the first death on the river. Jeff paddled the river in one day in 2010.

That article is an excellent read, and is where I had first heard that there had been no deaths (until then).

The video titled "Stikine River Gorge - 1981" is an amazing video.  These guys were in a whole different league.
