Check out this report from a TV station in Tennessee

I am not sure if anyone in the club knew this open boater, Steve Senior from Bridgeport, Ontario.

I didn't, but I knew some of the people that he was down there with

Richard, Vero Beauchemin was right behind this group and came across the rescue in progress. It was quite traumatizing apparently and the guy didn't make it.
Pretty sad I have to admit. I'm glad to see this news story does explain the overall situation fairly well. I'm also glad to hear they were planning on having a drink in his honour.
If I go this way, I'd want everyone to do the same! Dying doing what you love.
But I'll put my efforts in avoiding such a situation wherever possible. I'd rather be able to paddle for a long, long, long, long time!

I paddled with Steve a couple of days before the incident. Very sad. He was a very nice guy!
