Title: Saturday 3PM Petite Nation
Post by: JohnCyr on March 28, 2013, 12:32:40 PM
Good News. My Dad just texted me.

Ice is out on the Petite Nation. Open boaters were there this morning.

I have brunch plans with my parents on Saturday until around 2...I will be spending the day there and maybe the night...I am keen on a run around 3pm saturday!

Level is super easy right now. Good First run of the year.

Let me know!

Point A is the take out and it is where we can meet. When youre on the 148 or the 50... turn left on Montee Papineau, the left again on Chemin Cascades and park on the right just passed the wood bridge over the river.

I can meet you there for 3pm. Well get dressed and drive up to the put in! Creekboat, playboat, which ever you feel like using!  :D

Significant chance that I'm in.  Still a go for 10:30 at the take-out?

Think we can do two laps, and have me off the river by 2:00?

Yep! We can def do two laps! Cleo and some friends is coming. Martin is coming with me! Were all meeting at take out for 10:30! Level is 40 cms for sure and there is wood in certain places. Always eddy hop and boat scout or shore if you cant see. There is a tree blocking the first rapid before the canyon. From the hole to the canyon wall on river right. Managed to go over the log that is skightly under water on the right but itd be easy to pin there. Best to go far left or boof the log. Skirting the hole as usual is not an option anymore. We could remove the log imo!  Anyways its all good and safe. :) stoked for tomorrow!!

"There is a tree blocking the first rapid before the canyon."

Is it the same tree that's been there for a few years now? The photo below shows what it was like in May 2009. Lot of water that day...

Hey! Hope you had fun. I felt the beginning of a cold yesterday and was right: it kept me awake all night so at 4:30 in the morning I turned off my alarm. Too bad, it didn't even rain in the end!
