Hi folks,
After talking to lots of folks this evening, the consensus is to run the Bonniebrook in the lower Laurentians.
It's a technical class III river with a nice mix of rapids.
For a description, check out http://www.cartespleinair.org/Canot/04/BonniebrookLeduc2009.pdf
We'll be starting at the Cote Saint-Patrick put-in and going to Domaine Beriau or the Hydro-Quebec Rd. takeout
Plans are to meet at the Tim Horton's in Saint-Colomban at 10:15AM then head over the river at 10:30AM
GPS co-ordinates: 45.705202,-74.095902
Google maps suggests you give about 1 3/4 hours drive time from downtown Ottawa
The usual caveats about spring paddling and cold water gear apply...
Please feel free to use this thread to arrange rides etc.
If you have any questions send me a PM or give me a call at (613) 224-8507 after 8:00 PM Friday

I am hoping to go. I have to work late tonight so I have to see how I am feeling...
-
Would like to go too.
Carpooling from the west of Ottawa?

I'm likely in as well and will confirm later this evening. I'll be looking to carpool as well; from DT or from Gatineau.
-
Sean, I can't go unless I have a ride (my wife has claimed the car). I'm in Farrhaven, right near Fallowfield and 416 intersection. If you're willing to pick me up and drop me off, then I'd definitely go. Obviously willing to pay my fair share, especially for the detour. But don't feel obliged, I'm a little out of the way.

Yes, I can give you a lift. Are you at home?
-
Looks like I'll be giving it a miss. Enjoy it like this dude did folks:

FYI, Sean is awesome! He will be giving me a ride tomorrow, so I shall be present!

Thanks for the nice day on the river and diner afterward.
Was an all in paddling resting day for me as I was recovering from a major bruised butt from a nasty swim on a fat Doncaster 2 days before. Boat felt awefully tight with my swollen butt.
All in day as we got a full range of weather elements; sun, rain, snow, hail. Only missing locusts and frogs. No, we got frogs... I believe a few Frenchmen fell down on us and swam... I guess that counts.
Merci,
