4-5 of us are headed that way on the morning of June 23rd.
The group is mostly intermediate and will be scouting the rapids. Others with more experience will run each section multiple times, provide safety, and hike back up.
If you want to join please let me know.

Can someone give a fast summary of what the Rouge is like in comparison to the Ottawa? Is a playboat going to be OK on this river?
Also, any idea what time you're looking to put in?

BOOM! Without the ice and the frenchmen talking! Level is same as in this video.
Id say its a step up from the ottawa. Lines a bit narrower, holes a bit bigger but very manageable, especially now with the warmer weather...

Nice, well done John.
Yeah, it's a step up from the Ottawa for sure. IMO the most important part is after Slice and Dice at 1:37. Watch how the paddler moves from river right to the center at about the 2:00 mark, around a hole on river right at the 2:12 mark, then back into an eddy at the big rock on river right at the 2:30 mark. This will allow you to get out and scout the next section. Simply put, swimming here isn't ideal b/c you'll likely swim down Washing Machine (2:30 - 3:03).... potentially even further.
All that being said, if you've got your rolls and eddy entrances/exits you should be golden.
Cheers,
Andy

Should be golden.... famous last words. ;)

The level is below 100 m3/s, and dropping. It is the upper part of the playboat range, but still not crazy high.
Nothing to worry about until you're under the power lines. Then eddy out right to scout the horizon line: Elizabeth's drop (1:15 mark), straightforward double drop. A mishap here is of no consequence, there's a big pool below.
It really starts with Slice and Dice, with a cool 'threading the needle' move right in the middle (1:35 mark), or a sneak river left. It's best to eddy out river right afterwards, to setup the rest of the rapid. Beware of Drano, a hole that forms behind a point on river right (after the 2:00 mark in the movie, as was said earlier). Then you eddy out on the right in the Texaco eddy, easy to recognize because of the ropes tied to the rocks. There you scout what's left: the Mushroom, which is actually more of a wave at this level. Avoid it on the left (2:35 mark) and catch the huge eddy on the left above the Washing Machine so that you can sneak through the Drier (river left). Then it's easier stuff and some flat. Take out on the right after the huge rockpile in the middle of the river for the portage.
You have the option to launch off the rocks to save some portage between the last two 'sisters'. It's fine, there is over 200 m of flat before last sister. Portage that one on the left (at the HW 50 bridge pillar) and enjoy the last rapid (and the animals on its shores...). Take out is at the bridge on HW 148.
