Title: just not the ottawa
Post by: kevinjdp on July 25, 2013, 09:57:03 AM
Is anyone interested in doing anything but the Ottawa....maybe the gatineau or rouge?

There are talks of doing the Rouge this weekend. Level is below 60 m^3/s and dropping. Which means friendly river.

I'm taking advantage of the Ottawa this week-end... because i'm moving in Quebec city (probably next week!!!)

you will be all welcome to come and paddle with me in Quebec! i might live close to Tewks (and will probably have a house where friends could camp!)

Which section? The lower one?

I talked to Dominique Fournier and the Qu?bec crew last week. It's a bit of an expedition. Almost 1 hr of nasty portage at both the put-in and the take-out. And the road requires lots of ground clearance, and the shuttle is looong. Out of curiosity, who are you going with?

The lower section is the reason for this book, and is on the cover too:

Ya, thats the one I was thinking of.

I have that guide book.

That river looks awesome.

Dunno if I'd run that big waterfall though. The line looks easy and the consequences don't look too bad. I could be totally wrong.

Edit: I just checked out where it is.

A bit too far out of town for me to make a weekend out of. Its north east of quebec city.

Just going to roll out to the GATS for a chill weekend with a sandy beach and no rafts. There is something to be said for a quite river without the crowds. Hope to link up for a cdb paddle soon. "Ninja" why r u leaving us?
