The Algonquin Radio Observatory has been repaired and is going to be used again for research, examining pulsars using VLBI, or Very Long Baseline Interferometry: The signals from two such antennas, one in Canada and another in Europe, can be combined to form a signal comparable to an antenna the size of the distance between the two dishes, i.e. 1000 km versus 50 m.
For us this means the possibility of a tour of the facilities, and improved roads too, as we use the acess roads to go to our put-in.

I was a summer student there in '86. I actually gave tours to anyone who was lost enough to have found us.

Then get a creek boat and let's go!
Although it is very low right now, 2.37 m on the gauge... This means about 17 m^3/s. That would be bony in many places... Not worth hiking 4 km for it!

There is usually an increase in levels big enough to make a fall run. I'd be very interested, especially if its before Gauley (see next post)
