OK ... meet you there.
I haven't paddled in while ... too many other things to do.

I may be interested in the Main. I'll let you know tomorrow. Anyone know what the level is?
-
between 5 and 9
which is the best intel I got.
-
According to John Mason, he stated 5 as of Friday. We'll see if anyone reports it today.
I'm thinking of joining... I'll let you guys know tonight.
-
OK, I'm in.
Level reported today (Saturday) was 5.25. So it's been pretty stable.
At this level, it's borderline Main or Middle... I'll let you guys decide.
I'm planning on taking my car but if you want to carpool Larry, give me a shout.

Trip Report
Ottawa Leve, 6.75. Horseshoe and Baby Face are gone. Angel's Kiss is surfable but not great. Butterfly was very nice (surfer's left) and the wave on Upper No Name was great but very difficult to catch it from the eddy.
As we passed the narrows right before deciding whether we do the Main or the Middle channel, Larry decides he must roll for the river gods. So he promptly heads to the flat water river right, behind the point where the water is flat and proceeds to flip upside down. Adam and I are downstream a bit watching worship the river gods as he rolls right side up... or does he. He reverts to the upside down position. No biggy, he tries again, and fails. Tries once more, and fails. He proceeds to about his fourth attempt when I decide to paddle to him for a potential T-rescue, but he's quite far away at this point. Adam is thinking to himself "What's he doing?" I kid you not, Larry must have tried rolling at least 15 times before I finally got to him. As he pulls himself to the surface against my boat, his face is pretty bright red. He then gasps for air... a good sign, he's still alive.
He proceeds to flip multiple times throughout the day afterwards while playing on various waves and nails every roll without an issue. Conclusion? The river gods just didn't want his worship.
I was really, really, really, really hoping he would swim in flat water. Now THAT would have been a story. But 15 attempts in flat water, I'll live with that. *Someone* needs some pool sessions this winter. ;)
Great day on the river, very quiet.

LMFAO!!
(It might have been 16 times)
The gods just kept pushing him back under.. Oh man, I'm laughing too hard right now!

Happy to provide the entertainment for the day. Kind of wondering what took you so long to come to my aid ...
Unlike fine wine which gets better with age ... the sort of opposite thing is happening these days on the water. It's not an overnite occurrence, but slowly creeps up on you, first the body then maybe the mind. Gee I wonder if there is another kayak out there ...

A solution for that? Only 125$--when's your birthday, Larry?

Are those water wings for your boat?

This looks simpler for him. http://www.northwater.com/html/products/sea_kayak/SKsubdirectory/Paddle-Float.html
;) Poor Larry. I get the feeling he'll get his revenge on me one day....
