What is the level at champlain? Can't remember the web sit for the levels.
-
Google trailhead water levels, they have the right link to britannia gauge. Level is about 58.4. Almost there!!
-
you don't have to remember the website
You only have to remember the CdB's website ...
The club's website provides links for water levels in Ontario, Quebec and the States

patience is a virtue.
I was up near the Aylmer marina this past Monday and looked across at the "Nortel building" symbol. Well the bay(lake) was solid ice.
Now it might have been sunny out for the past week ... but nice white snow actually reflects any sunshine rather than absorbing. So any slow moving section of the river upstream of Ottawa is probably in the same frozen state ...
The rain forecasted next week might loosen the pack of ice.

I am sure the conditions are less than optimal and that most people are at Mackest but I'm going to check it out at 9:30 am in case anyone else is interested in forcing their way back up the wall without an eddy...

There are a ice chunks coming down (some as big as 1 m^2).

Thanks for the update, Elizabeth. I was thinking of heading out this morning, but large chunks of ice sounds beyond what I'd like to tackle right now. Perfect time to work on cutting new foam for my boat!

It's worth checking tomorrow. I will be there at 1 pm, with a big and a small boat... Alfred will be there too, perhaps others.
