Title: Champlain/Bate Island (Mon May 17)
Post by: Peter L. on May 17, 2015, 12:03:41 PM
The water level at Britannia (http://wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/report/report_e.html?type=realTime&stn=02KF005) seems to have gone back up and leveled out a smidgen below 59 (58.95), and I saw surfers there yesterday, so am going out for a first paddle / post-winter equipment (and roll) check... and also to try my 'new' kayak/bike trailer.

Anyone else interested or already going to be there?  I'm thinking early or mid-afternoon, but am flexible!

I took a look Saturday afternoon. There was a wave but not much of an eddy.  One kayaker showed up but I did not stay to see how she did.
Has the level gone up since Saturday?

There were a bunch of people enjoying the wave on Sunday (myself included). The eddy was not amazing, but the wave was fun and complex - very surfable. However, the water level has started to go down since Sunday :/

A little teasing blip? Nice that some were able to take advantage of it.

For more information about river levels, there is this useful resource:

They have a 3-day forecast.
