Title: rapids/falls on the Mississippi River in Almonte?
Post by: AdamN on April 04, 2016, 12:46:22 PM
We went out to the sugar bush on Sunday and went through Almonte. The flow on the Mississippi River  looked amazing as it went through the village. The dam/falls reminded me of Hogsback, may be a bit more extreme. I have never heard anyone mention this site. Is there any reason? Trespassing? Too dangerous?

There are a couple big falls out that way.

Galetta has a huge one, and pakenham does as well, right in town.

I checked out the falls in almonte a while ago and it looked pretty burly.

I think I heard someone ran them a couple years ago.

I'm talking about the falls right in Almonte. Has anyone else seen them? I think they are part of a hydro dam.
