Hi folks,
For those interested, a group of us are headed to the Laurentians to run the Ouareau " Aval du Lac" section.
It`s a class 3 - 4 river with a mix of pool/drop and continuous rapids.
There are some large drops that can be portaged easily.
You can find a description at http://quebecwhitewater.com/river_detail/?river=35
Plans are to meet at the Tim Horton's in Gatineau on Montee Paiement & Autoroute 50
[GPS 45.504272,-75.676496] at 8:00AM and then head over to the river.
The usual caveats about spring paddling and cold water gear apply...
Please feel free to use this thread to arrange rides etc.

I'd love to go. Could anyone give me a lift from the Tim's?
-
I am sure there will be more than enough cars, you could find someone to tag along with at the tims.

Does anyone remember the level when we did it last year?
-
32 cms last year ... the gauge is in Rawdon about 200 km downstream so Quebec whitewater applies a fudge factor.

Based on my notes, the Federation site (http://www.canot-kayak.qc.ca/info_debit/index.html) showed last year's level was around 52 cms.
Right know it's at 64 and going down at .25 cms/hr. This projects out to 58 cms by noon tomorrow so the level will a bit higher than last year.
As Larry noted, the gauge is a long way from the put in (Google maps says 45km "as the crow files") and the colder nights will have slowed the melt/flow.

I will join you and be bringing Larry.

For the record, Jon flipped and had to roll. Sounds like his skills need to improve.
