Title: Easter Weekend paddling
Post by: Bill Schlarb on April 12, 2017, 02:21:23 PM
Hi folks,

Several people are interested in paddling this weekend.
With the rain and warm weather there are lots of options (and water):

 Bonniebrooke (QC)  http://www.cartespleinair.org/Canot/04/BonniebrookLeduc2009.pdf
 Achigan (QC)             http://www.cartespleinair.org/Canot/05/AchiganLeduc2003.pdf
 Beaver Creek (ON)   http://www.whitewaterontario.ca/rivers/index.php/Beaver_Creek
 Black (ON)                  http://www.whitewaterontario.ca/rivers/index.php/Black_River_(Upper_Queensborough)

With all the water out there, everything will be class 3 or higher
Since the Bonniebrooke and Achigan are smaller watersheds, these would probably be good choices
Please post as to what days you're interested in going and we can put together a trip listing

Bill

Beaver Creek  -  Good Friday

A few Kingston paddlers are planning to paddle Beaver Creek.  Good level and lots of fun.  Anyone interested?

Probably spend time at Champlain on Friday.

Friday and earlier Monday (I teach at 4:30 and have to be back by then).

As to where, I'm definitely easy, but I've already done Beaver Creek twice. Although I would definitely enjoy it again...

My preference would be Friday,  according to the forecast the only sunny day. As for the location maybe the Bonniebrook or anything else is fine

Friday works for me, depending on the river.

Also, just spoke to Mark Pilon, warned him that pretty much all the rivers running right now are above his current skill level. So unless we end up on an easier river somehow, he said not to worry about him.

On that note, if anyone will be at Champlain on Friday, let me know.

It's not that far... But camping/motel Friday night is certainly an option! No problem for me.

Good day on the Bonniebrook! Ten of us, so fairly large showing. Strange river, doing kayak limbo to pass under bridges...

Achigan tomorrow! --C.
