Based on an earlier thread, the consensus is to paddle the Achigan on Saturday
It is a class 2+ -> 3+ river with some larger drops that can easily be carried around

This one is located in the lower Laurentians about 2 hours from downtown Ottawa.
Plans are to meet at the Tim Hortons in Saint-Sophie at 10:30 AM GPS: 45.8191486, -73.9014246
OR at the Tim Horton's at Autoroute 50 and Montee Paiement at 8:15am
Please feel free to use this post/thread to arrange rides.

I will meet you guys at the Tim Hortons in Saint-Sophie at 10:30 AM GPS: 45.8191486, -73.9014246 for 9h15-30. I live in Orleans so it will be better for me. See y'a tomorrow!
-
I was planning on going there with Daniel, just wondering if I can get a ride to come back to the Tim's on Monte Payment
-
I'll meet at the Mont Paiement Tims - happy to drive, or jump in with someone else.
-
Have fun!
I have to conduct scholarship interviews all day Saturday, then watch a final exam in the evening!
Bring Andrea (and yourselves) some beer this time instead of wine--so they can stock the bar!
And beware of the (easily avoided) pin spot after the big drops... Bring lots of rope just in case.

Bill, ~ 7:25 at your place tomorrow.
Dan:
Level last week (Apr 15) was ~ 60 cms - (Yesterday Apr 20 it was ~ 70)
This rain will probably bring it up a bit (70-90).

I'm in if you'll have me in my open canoe?

We ran a few years back in June when it was at 30 cms and it was OK.
The gauge is 37 km below the takeout so the level depends more on local rain and time it takes the water to get to the gauge.

12 guys 7 or 8 swims one black eye and tons of water and video evidence to follow thanks to Frank!
-
and in the words of Jon when he was speaking to me "none of it was us" followed by a chuckle.
-
Renaud, sent me a cool graph of the levels, looks like it was higher last weekend...

Can somebody give me the exact level for Saturday? I would like to add that to the video. Thanks.
-
The actual gauge value is not very informative, as it is almost 40 km downstream... Just say 'high'! --C.

I'll post a video here tomorrow around 4 p.m. 8)
