Title: Rouge river below 30 m^3/s
Post by: ChristianG on September 26, 2017, 02:08:23 PM
The Rouge is going down. Unless it rains, it will likely dip below 25 m^3/s.

For the Seven Sisters section, it is an easy beginner's level. For advanced boaters, this means that waterfalls 1, 2, 3 and 6 are not too difficult, and there is fun stuff to do in the Washing Machine.

The take out is just shy of 100 km from downtown Ottawa, and the run can take less than 2 hours, including scouting.

So leaving work early would do, or the weekend... Anyone interested?

Still thinking about going. Would meeting at noon (12:00) at the take out work? No need to start early, it's a short run. Let me know and we can confirm. So far there would be me and Jacques T., maybe Bruce S. and Seamus R. too.

Christian,
Just to be clear, since I have not been there in a few years, are we meeting at the camp ground as the takeout?

Great day. Bruce, Steve, Daniel and me... plus another 30 paddlers from Montreal, Kingston, Ottawa...

Even at this low level some parts can be challenging! Bruce and I ran the left line at the last waterfall.

Saw many known faces, including a certain tall bearded guy! The municipal camping was open, such a nice day.

Thanks,

The Place Rouge is a private campground on South side of HW 148. We meet at municipal campground on North side of HW 148, just east of the bridge. For future reference, I guess...
