There will be a group at mackfest this weekend.
Our plans as of now are to run Beaver Saturday, and Upper Black on sunday.
Let me know if you plan on joining and we can set up a meeting time.
We will be camping at bunkers for the weekend. Weather is supposed to be great, will be a good time to get out for your first time of the season, if you have the equipment!

Sounds like a few will come from Ottawa Saturday (at least)! Like me, maybe Bill... --C.

a group of us will stay there Sat for the event and also paddle Sunday. The season start!
-
So, any final decision on where to meet on Saturday? Timmis or Bunkers??
-
I'll vote for Bunkers as it is I believe a little more on the way to the Beaver, and for the free coffee of course. There can be lineups for the loo there though.
As of now, I will likely be driving there from the Toronto area and then staying for Sat. night and the Black run on Sunday. If anybody from here is planning to paddle anything late on Friday then let me know and I might be able to fit it in.
-
So 10 am at Bunkers then? I'm ok with that.
-
See you guys at Bunkers tomorrow!

Great weekend. Just a bit cold on Friday night--the campfire helped--but amazing weather otherwise. Nice to see some people we haven't seen in a while. We did the Beaver on Saturday, a pretty large group from Ottawa! There was some carnage on the river but nothing serious. The Bridge drop is always entertaining, just like a ball in a pinball machine being thrown left and right. The water was still rather cold, just hitting a wave got your face frozen almost! On Sunday there were 9 of us going down the Upper Black river. Running Bare Bottom Beach Falls, I am always surprised at how fast you go on the way down! Particle accelerator was big but there was a lot of water covering the rocks. And it's always nice to have somebody selling pies and hamburgers right at the take-out, after going over the dam in the village (and after all the preceeding flat water)!
