Post by: Francois Leclerc on October 15, 2021, 04:03:45 PM
I was just wondering if there will be pool sessions organized by the club this year?

Hi Francois,

We have been looking into pool sessions.
I have quotes etc.
We are missing an organizer to coordinate the on site logistics and make sure everyone is following pool COVID rules.

The pool has contacted me recently re. new COVID status with updated contract.
If you are interested in being the weekly coordinator then please contact me and we can get the sessions signed up.

Thank you,
Bruce.

Hi All,

There has been only 1 person showing interest on this thread, and no one volunteered to be the site coordinator.
So the pool sessions have not been booked.
The time slots may still be open if interest grows, we could ask again in 2 weeks.

Bruce.

The signup form is available on the CdB pool sessions webpage at https://cdb-ottawa.com/pool-sessionssessions-de-piscine (https://cdb-ottawa.com/pool-sessionssessions-de-piscine)
The University of Ottawa is maintaining COVID-19 mandatory vaccination and masking policies, until April 30 2022, full U of Ottawa Coronavirus (COVID-19) (https://www.uottawa.ca/coronavirus/en). All participants must complete:
a) the uOttawa's mandatory vaccination policy (https://cst.uottawa.ca/en/csa) (once)
b) the COVID Assessment Tool (https://cst.uottawa.ca/en/csa) (each day they are onsite.) Select one of the result options 'Email result', 'Save screening result PDF' or 'Print screening result' to bring to pool session to present at door.c) notify CDB admin that COVID Assessment Tool was completed (on each day of attendance) (How is being determined)

Hi all pool session paddlers and swimmers,

The uOttawa Pool coordinator has asked that we change our time slot 30 min. earlier to be 5:00PM - 6:00PM.

This is to accommodate an internal program and allows for more time to get the boats out of the pool and off the deck.
The change has been made on the CDB Webpage at https://cdb-ottawa.com/pool-sessionssessions-de-piscine (https://cdb-ottawa.com/pool-sessionssessions-de-piscine)

Your Prez.,
Bruce.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
On Wed. Mar. 23, 2022 the "Assistant Director, Sports Facilities" cancelled our booking 'for reason of damages that they have and may cause in the future to the bulkheads as well as the entrances / exits and corridors.'
After about 5hrs of negotiations the reservations coordinator managed to get our contract honoured with the following additional restrictions:
1) maximum 15 people & boats
2) Lane ropes will be placed accross the pool to protect the bulkhead. So do not cross the lane ropes.
3) U of Ottawa will require an inspection take place before and after each of your reserved times of the pool (including bulkheads, deck, etc) as well as the entrances / exits and hallways leading to the pool from the loading dock.
Failure to comply with these restrictions will likely cause immediate cancellation of the pool sessions.
This activity is definitely on probation!!
