Okay, the reservation is made for ten people at Wilderness Tours and guarantees that we will have two nights at the quiet campgrounds (Friday June 27 and Saturday June 28), free coaching by the pros on Saturday and Sunday, five meals, from Saturday morning to Sunday lunch, a Saturday night party, free shuttle. The cost per each person is $55.65 cents ($45 dollars + 8 dolars reservation fee, plus applicable taxes). That's a real bargain and all the proceeds go to the Canadian Freestyle team.
Here is how you pay. Please call toll-free at 1-888-RAFT-NOW with a credit card handy. You can also pay via the secure payment portal at https://www.wildernesstours.com/payments/index.php
Quote RESERVATION #:47817. It's under my name Paul Potvin.
I have already paid so there are nine more places available.
People who have said they would come are Terry 1
Colin 1 Sean 1 Grahame 1 Annie Valade 1 Chris F 1 and Chris M 1
So with me also there are two more available spots for this reserved camping area. If those spots are filled you can still attend of course, and we will try to include you in our camping area!
Please contact Wilderness tour ASAP to confirm your reservation and post that you have.
Thank You,
Paul Potvin SYOTR ;D

I just phoned them and paid my part.

Who Hoo!

Paul ;D
-
woohoo! I'm in too!
carine
-
Excellent!!!!
Paul ;D
-
I paid up too!
I also reserved a spot in the adult week of July 14 - if anyone was thinking of going that week and wanting to share a cabin with me because a week sleeping on the ground after exhausting days swimming and some kayaking is tiring....
Soon I will be able to join the Big Kids (i.e. you guys) on CDB trips!
Terry
-
Great, I hope everyone signs up as quickly as you guys did!
Paul ;D
-
Chris M and Chris F are paid up.....
Just an FYI - If the party is the one I think it is.... it's 80's night (bring your best costume).
Cheers,
Chris
-
ok ... lets get this straight
just because I will be there in an open boat doesn't mean I will be carrying your lunch, water bottles, throw bags, etc.
-
I paid my spot too.
Annie
-
Hey!
I just reserved a spot (and paid the 55.65$) for myself. There may be one spot left, but I don't know. Sounds like it'll be fun!
--Christian
-
Four people have paid up t'ill now, I just checked. If or when we ecceed 10 spots WT staff have told me they will call me to add places to this number ;D
So it all works out :D
Paul
-
Hey Paul... Only 4 are officially paid up? Judging from the posts, there should be 6 persons, unless WT's computer takes time to process things. Here's the receipt they e-mailed me:

I paid up just before 2 this afternoon... That's interesting that they say a lower number
-
The computer might be slow, payments to be confirmed, etc, because Chris F and Chris M said they have paid, so has Carine, Annie, Terry, Colin, Christian, Grahame and myself. I count that as 9 so one spots left, (and I think Joanne said she wanted it, not sure, have to check..) until they have to add some more spaces. The only thing is that some of the payees may not have quoted the reservation number posted at the top of this thread so they were not counted in the group. Did everyone quote the reservation #?
Paul :-)
-
No, my bad, no info on Joanne in teh two threads so I guess one spot left. I emailed Eric Cl?ment, so if anyone sees him this weekend, could you remind him that there is one spot left.
Of course if someone grabs that spot, I will phone and ask that more spots be added.
Thanks,
Paul
-
I just got off the phone with Sharky and confirmed for Chris M and Chris F...we are paid up.
Cheers,
Chris
-
I just sent Sharky this email asking for 10 more spaces, this could be BIG!
Hi Matt,
I had sent you an email stating that the Coureurs de Bois club wanted to reserve 10 camping spaces for the full weekend of Meet the Pros (june 28-29) I have on our CdB site confirmation that 10 people have reserved spots under reservation # 47817
These people are Chris F and Chris M, Carine V, Annie V, Terry, Colin, Sean, Christian, Grahame and myself Paul Potvin.
As per my counting that is ten, though when I contacted WT they told me that only 4 people had registered? I don't understand... More people will want to register soon, so can we increase this number to 20 spaces?
:D

I just got an instant reply, via phone from Matt "Sharky" and he's bumped us up to 20 spaces available to our club for camping. He said that WT is not making any money, actually loosing money, but the proceeds will go a long way to pay for uniforms, dry suits, transportation, etc for the national freestyle team. He also wants Wt to become a sponsor of CdB "Friend of CdB" when we go camping or do rafting or trainning with them. He will offer a discount, details to follow... ;)
Please tell your friends, cousions and aunts and uncle to book a space now. Remember to quote reservation number #47817 when booking your spot. And please post here when you have reserved because this seems a more immediate way of confirmaing that you have reserved than WT computing records which are a bit slow...
Cheers,
Paul ;D

Attention, Carine, and all who have booked the weekend of June 27-28-29 of June, "Meet and learn from the Pros". Check your confirmation email from Wilderness Tours (WT). Please make sure that your reservation email contains the information I'm posting below:
ORGANIZER'S NAME: Paul Potvin
ORGANIZER'S EMAIL: paulpo@rogers.com
RESERVATION NUMBER: 47817
If you do not have this information, especially the reservation number 47817, then it's very easy to contact WT at 1-888-RAFT-NOW or at 1 613 646-2654 and ask them to change your reservation # to 47817.
Cheers,
Paul ;D
-
Hey Paul,
Steph and I want to come. I tried to call and they said that it can only be completed online. If I book it online with you as the organizer it should be fine right? I just want to make sure we're in the same camping area etc. as everyone else.
Thanks,
Pat
-
Hi Pat & Steph,
I just called WT and they only take phone reservations from the organizer, me. The rest have to book online. When you book online, just make sure that you quote the ORGANIZER'S NAME: Paul Potvin, ORGANIZER'S EMAIL: paulpo@rogers.com and RESERVATION NUMBER: 47817
With the both of you that makes 11 paddler booked and nine spots left. It's gonna be an awsome weekend!!!
Cheers,
Paul ;D

Just confirming that I'm in:
ORGANIZER'S NAME: Paul Potvin
ORGANIZER'S EMAIL: paulpo@rogers.com
RESERVATION NUMBER: 47817
PAYMENT MADE BY: Sean OKeefe
PAYMENT EMAIL: sean.okeefe@simplysurf.net
Does anyone know anything about the "format" of the weekend?
Do they have van(s), truck(s), trailer(s) to organize shuttles?
Are we going to park-and-play?
Run? (multiple trips through No-Name?) Are they running with us?
Is there any road access to the Middle?
If they're providing lunches, then are we on the river in the morning, then off at lunch (or lunch at Pushbutton???), then back on for the afternoon, or...
etc... etc... etc...

Let me know when you know okay?
Cheers,
Paul ;D

Hey ALL,
Colin and my plans have changed. So, I am placing our 2 spots for the first takers. The only catch is that you may have to pretend that you are Colin and me!!
Sandra

Don't forget to bring your 80's cotume

How late can we arrive on Friday evening? Also, do you have any additional info on the clinics themselves?
Regardless of how the clinics work, $45 is a steal for the meals and camping. Very excited for the weekend.
-
Ryan Weytung emailed me today. Looks like the whole weekend is going too be a mostly CdB weekend. We comprise at least 20 plus members out of thirty!
He asked me if we were able to go down the Middle Channel. I responded that most of us could (maybe a few swims... ;)) I figure that the play spots are going to be baby face, s-bend, buterfly and maybe even Big Smoothie if the level is high enough.
I don't know how late you can arrive Friday night, though nothing except a briefing will happen that night. I plan on being there probably at around 6pm if I can or maybe a little later. When you get there, have some ID, I guess or a print-out of your confirmation email. You'll have to fill out a form, some sort of disclaimer, get to your camping site install your tent and go to the restaurant to visit the main complex in case you are unfamiliar with the site. For instructions on how to get there click on this link http://www.wildernesstours.com/directions.php
I can't wait to get there, it's going to be a super fun weekend!!!!!
Paul ;D
-
Is it ok if we show up Saturday morning? What time do they plan to get started?
-

I don't think Baby Face is in ... my son was paddling on the weekend and said Horseshoe was gone.
Angels Kiss was apparently pretty sweet.
Lower no name scares the crap out of me as I always end up swimming there ... my track record for making it sucks.
Should be interesting as this will be my first trip up to the Ottawa this season.
The camera batteries are fully charged and my paddling gear is packed.
I will be in Petawawa on thursday night visiting my dad and step-mom and should be at the tours friday afternoon.
I might check out the Petawawa Town Run friday morning.
-

I think it should be okay as long as you show up a bit early, say before 9am?
Paul
-
Petawawa Town Run last Friday afternoon was very fun (6 on the bridge). Railway Bridge rapid fun, Lover's was great, Suicide was challenging but with a good line it was brilliant.
If I'm not up Friday night, I'll be sure to be up at WT in time for breakfast.

Hi All,
Again, I'm posting this on behalf of TIBOR.
He won't be able to make it this weekend, but his spot is already paid up.
So, if someone wants it, it is available.
Sean
-
Hi All,
Another post....
The original post said 5 meals. Does that mean that there will be a BBQ set up somewhere on the river? On the Main, that's easy (Garb/Pushbutton), but I don't know about the Middle.
I'm just trying to plan out the food needs.
Do we need to pack our own lunches??
Thanks!!
Sean
-
I emailed Ryan about just that. The original post said five meals. I think we will have lunch, no problems. I will post Ryan response asap!
Paul
Original message:
?Paddle With and Learn From the National Team? weekend on Saturday and Sunday June 28th and 29th. The National Team will be your host for an exciting weekend at Wilderness Tours. Come for the whole weekend or just a day. All proceeds will go to the National Team. They will be on hand both days to teach clinics from beginner to advanced. Rate is $25/day for your clinic with lunch and $45 for the weekend meal and camping package (2 nights camping and 5 meals Saturday breakfast through Sunday lunch). Saturday night is our Whitewater Ricks Old School Revival Party, one of the best of the summer.
-
WT Lunch Spot on the Middle is at bottom of Garvins on river left.
I think we will be running the middle as the main is basically washed out .... i.e. no push butto / garb, etc

Who wants to carpool leaving early Saturday morning?
-
Hi guys,
Cleo and I would love to attend this week-end! If you still have those spots available for purchase we would be more than happy to take them off your hands. I could try to merge my Sandra costume with my 80ies costume, or maybe cleo would have better luck at that.
You can reach us by e-mail or at 613-299-3393 to discuss.
Thanks in advance!
Chris
-
Tibor's spot is still available. It is already paid, and he will not be attending.
Sandra's post said that neither her, nor Colin will be there, so it looks like there are a total of 3 slots available.
"Colin and my plans have changed. So, I am placing our 2 spots for the first takers. The only catch is that you may have to pretend that you are Colin and me!!"

Steph and I should be there at 8pm hopefully! Looking forward to the weekend. See you tomorrow.

Tibor's spot has been taken by Louis Dionne.
Sean
-
Yes.
Thanks to Tibor and Sean!
