Anyone intersted in doing a run on Sat? Early start, to beat the crowds...Going early is not set in stone as I have nothing else going on that day....

I don't know what my saturday is looking like, but I might be interested, and will let you know sooner to then. I assume the level is around what it was last weekend, 12ish? How early were you planning on being there/leaving here?
As for big, your not that big. Lol, who am i kidding

I'm fine leaving anytime in the morning/afternoon. I'm good to go as early as 6:30am if needed....oh, just so you know...not as big as I used to be JP....and do you even paddle? Haven't seen you out this year. ;)
If you need a ride, let me know....I'm good to drive.

While I still am not sure if I'm gonna make it or not (it was a rough day at the water park in the rain yesterday, and im feeling it today for sure....i ate breakfast with my eyes closed i was so tired, lol) but if I may throw my 2 cents in (like I would if someone did care, c'mon) an earlier start is better, cause there would be less traffic, both the drive, and the river (which is the key factor, I think) plus we'll get home sooner (cause I gotta take the dog out), and yes Chris (just to make this quite possibly the longest run on sentence ever) yes, I do still paddle. I've had like 2 river days, and a couple champlain days, lol...so technically, yes, I still paddle.
So, sorry, got interupted (damn customers, at work) so I dunno if my vote counts (cause i may or may not becoming, although I'm leaning towards yes), but I would say champlain at like 7:45 leave at 8, or meet at put in at like 9 45 or 10am....that way we're on the river early, lots of free time before the hoardes come (and from what i hear, its gonna be nice weather wise).
Just my thoughts, sorry I didn't post yesterday, I had a docters appointment...then the aforementioned water park....but i'm gonna stop typing, and leave some space for someone else to reply, lol.

Hello. I hope this works because this is the first time I have used this. I am the "new guy" and trying to find someone to paddle with. I just joined the club (in fact I have yet to pay my fee) and have not be available until this weekend to paddle. I just moved here from New Brunswick and have not paddled the Ottawa for almost ten years. Also, I have no idea how difficult the middle channel is so I don't want to commit to something that will cause you grief and lots of "rescues" all day long. I live in Calabogie now so would love to meet you guys/gals, let me know. I am also available to drive but again, not too sure where I need to drive to. I guess you can call me the liability. (I have not paddled white water for about two years so it could be a freak show - good if you are looking to increase your own self esteem though) here is my work email address:

Hi Dave, your message worked just fine. Just keep posting on this site and I'm sure someone will go paddle the middle channel with you. Sometimes, plans are not definite until the very morning of the day....

Excellent. I am very flexible since I am stag pretty much for the entire summer. I will keep my eye on this site throughout the day/evening and react accordingly. I am excited to see how I do and learning from whomever paddles this weekend. The only thing I have to do is cut the lawn this weekend so I will standby for instructions. I am glad this works. Dave

If Chris and Paul are out, im starting to lean that way....god im such a follower. Dave (new guy dave) the middle is a fairly easy stretch, shy of 1 or 2 rapids. I don't know what your skill level is like now, but at this water level, even if you swam, I don't think you'd run into many problems. Just make sure you feel comfortable with teh people you go with, and when in doubt, scout....but you knew that.

Wendy, where abouts are you, perhaps I can carpool with you? I might be two far West though but I can meet you at a central location. (I am assuming that most of you folks are in the NCR?) I am now feeling better about my own lack of commitment and inability to make a decision. I am waffling because I'm overwhelmed and have stuff to do. But I am unclear as to who is definitely going.

Wow, this is more difficult than I thought. I will commit, I will go (provided someone tells me where to go, how to get there and who I am going with). I just assumed that all of you folks do this regularily? I too have some house-work stuff/errands to do, but I will wait until after or do it before I go. Anyhow, Liz, I am in (so if no one goes, you might read about me in the paper washing up on shore somewhere down river!) Dave

I am going to continue to waffle and give Wendy a call tonight. Sorry Dave. We aren't usually like this. Usually there are enough people going but the Kipawa is taking up a lot of member this weekend. I told myself I was going to do stuff at home this weekend so that's why. I have to go away for almost a month in a week or two.

I am so shy. Where should I meet up with everyone? I feel like the "special needs kid". I know I am the new guy but please remember that I just moved back to this province... I will check again tomorrow morning with the hopes that I have some direction. Otherwise I will wait for a more deliberate thing. I think I can find WT but where should I go from there? Anyhow, no worries, I am just happy that some of you are going. If I can find you then great, if not, at least I have I plan for tomorrow (although I woulld like to know this stuff now so I can have a few beers!) sorry to be such a pain in the ass. Dave
