Good Morning,
I will be turkey hunting this weekend on my parents land, right on the Petite-Nation river. The hunt is from 5am till noon. Therefore, Id be in to paddle the Petite nation in the afternoon. If I shoot on Friday, this means I can paddle on Saturday and Sunday on full days so if a bunch are headed to the Rouge, i might be in as well.
Anyways, My goal is mainly to run the Petite Nation a couple times this weekend. Level is 30 cms. Nice easy mellow level with plenty of eddies to catch! Get it before it dries up for the summer.
Cheers,
John

I'd love to paddle but my back is seriously messed up. I won't be able to get on the water till palmerfest probably.
-
Not cool! :( Better get some rest now and enjoy the rest of the summer man!
-
Hey Jee, wyszard (Richard) can paddle Saturday, but if we do the rouge it has to be for the whole day(long drive) , but if not we will maybe do petite or the ottawa.
-
Well youll be the first to know if I shoot tomorrow. Otherwise, id love to do the Petite Nation with you guys again!
-
If somebody heads on out on Sunday, I'd love to tag along (assuming my skills are good enough). I can only do Sunday, opening the cottage for the summer Sat.
-
If there is enough people I also would be interested in going Sunday
-
Luc and Marc, youre both fine for the Petite Nation! Ill be there all weekend so i can paddle Sunday! Let me kbow when or if you plan on coming!
-
So just to post publicly, Martin and I will carpool from Barrhaven through Bank/Hunt Club area to pick him up and off to the Petite Nation to meet JC. If anyone else is interested, feel free to jump in with us. I have two more spots.
JC, can you provide me with details on how to get there? Latitude/Longitude or otherwise as to where we would meet? Also the time to meet there? I've also purchased a leash/biner. So if you have that belt for me, that would be awesome if you could bring it along that day.
-
So I am assuming we are talking about Sunday. I was wondering what time were you planning on leaving. Maybe we could meet in Gatineau somewhere and follow each other.
-
Sounds good to me. I'll wait until JC replies as for the time to get there. Maybe we can meet at Tims at the corner of Mont?e Paiement and l'Autoroute de l'Outaouais? It's just south of the highway. If you prefer to hump in with us, I have the straps to put up to four kayaks on my roof rack. If you still prefer to just follow, that's all good too :)
-
Sounds good,we can take the one car. I will keep an eye out for the meeting time.
-
Ha ha! I swear I meant JUMP not HUMP! Crap.... ;) 10-4 on carpooling. So one spot left in my car if someone else decides to participate.
-
If we do the first run quickly we can do others too as it is a pretty short run.
-
Sorry luc , just saw the messages and left the belt at home. Already up there for the weekend! Sunday, we could meet at lets say, 10:30 at the take out!?
Heres coordinates and other relevant info!

Heres a video at 35 cms

And doing multiple runs of the canyon would be pretty darn fun yes!!! :)
-
10-4. Take out or point "A" according to that link which is over a bridge.
I'll head over to pick up Martin first and then meet with Marc at Tims. Marc, I'll be there for 9AM. Time to strap your kayak and grab a coffee/breakfast. Google estimates 54 min from Tims to the take out point. So it will probably take about 50 min. Give ourselves 30 min at Tims so if we leave around 9:30, we can be at the take out in time to meet JC.
JC, if you know it doesn't take that long from the corner of Mont?e Paiement to the take out, let me know.
Martin, I assume I'll be picking you up at Richard's again? Can we meet there for 8:20AM? Again, time to strap your kayak and load your gear and then head off to Tims.
-
I should add, I'm easy going if we want to do two runs... no time constraints on my end at all. So if the group wants to do that, I'm all in :)
-
Luc see you guys Sunday morning 9;00 am at the Tim. I am not sure if I will be able to do the two runs if not I will follow you in my truck
-
Luc, from Mtee Paiement, it should take 30 minutes to 40 minutes max!! And Marc. With scouting, the run takes about 1:30-2:00. Its pretty short. Last month. I ran it in 30 minutes no stop, no scout, no race pace. Walking back up the canyon takes about 8 minutes. We dont have to do two full runs but ill do the canyon at least twice! :)
-
10-4 JC. So time adjustments, lets meet at the Tims for 9:30AM instead. Martin, I'll be at Richard's place for 8:50AM.
Marc and Martin, please confirm so that it doesn't appear I've stranded you guys there :) It's looking like lots of sunshine for tomorrow! Should be a fantastic day!
-
Sounds good for doing the canyon twice. At first I thought you guys wanted to the complete run twice. Luc I will take you offer and car pool with you.
-
coming to! see you at the Tim!
Marc: J'ai trouv? des gants , je pense que ce sont les tiens!
D
-
Oui,je pense que tu as raison pour les gants. Est ce que tu porte ton dry demain
-
Cant wait!
-
Just wondering whit today's weather should I bring my dry suit or dry top
-
I'd like to come--need to be on the water in the sunshine. I'll meet you at the take-out,
Joan
-
