Title: Strainer on the Petite Nation
Post by: lafreniere.luc on May 07, 2016, 07:24:09 PM
I posted this on the Ottawa Whitewater Facebook page as well.

Strainer on Petite Nation. Right above the canyon, there is a large tree in the river that stretches from river right shoreline to about 2/3 across the river. The only safe passage at the moment is to go far river left when approaching the canyon (right after the first small rapid). The tree isn't pretty with lots of branches. Alternatively, I would recommend walking around that section for now.

Here's a map of the exact location:

What a surprise! A strainer in the first canyon! No carnage I hope... Below is the same rapid in 2008. Note the TWO strainers... --C.
