St. Regis for Saturday --- currently running a 2.6
I suspect the rains will bring it up

and the temperature is supposed to be around 13 ... which beats 5 degrees

I would definitely be interested in doing the St-Regis. I know that Bill can't paddle this weekend so we need to figure out the logistics. We'd meet at the gas station on Prince of Wales? No whispers tonight but call me anytime 613-355-2470.

the preferred location for club day trips leading to Upperstate New York is the Fallowfield park and ride.

Definitely want to paddle on Sat.  Spoke with Bill tonight and the old sage doesn't believe there will be enough water in the St Regis come the weekend.  Any other suggestions?

well we can wait until tomorrow to make a decision ... but the old sage is probably bitter because they went on April 8th when it was 5 degrees

are the weather forecasts for the region .... the St Regis is located between the two locations.

there is also the Grasse ... Lampson fall section but its currently flowing @ 1700 cms ... kinda high for me

I have borrowed Bills boat for tomorrow.

What is the meeting time at the Fallowfield Park & Ride?

THanks,

Bruce.

...is a trip on?

St Regis is still at 2.67 on the gauge and not moving, although the other sections are listed as increasing.

Not raining in Potsdam, so doesn't look like it'll come up.

And I don't think I feel like spending a full day paddling in pouring rain.

I'm echoing Stephen comments and will pass on the drive to NY.

At Whispers last night there was discussion about long boats at Champlain on Sat. Anyone interested?

If there is no trip tomorrow then I will go to Champlain with my long boat and maybe an old windsurfer to try as a SUP.
Those are about the only vessels that will do anything out there.

But I am still hoping for a trip, although I am following what the group decides.

Cheers,
Bruce.

I think I'll plan on swimming by Champlain with either my zen or sea kayak tomorrow afternoon

It looks like we have a new record flow for Britannia gauge. The previous high for the years 1960 - 2016 was just a smidgen above 5,000 CMS:
http://wateroffice.ec.gc.ca/report/historical_e.html?stn=02KF005

As of around 2:00 when the police showed up at Bates Island to shut the party down, the gauge has been showing around 5200 CMS. The Ottawa River Regulation Board is predicting the peak flow to happen tomorrow at ~ 60.45m or ~5,480 CMS.

Hi,
Adrian and I paddled at the Deschenes river left channel starting at the bottom. It was good ferrying practice and a workout for 45mins or so. The flow was very pushy and a bit tricky with the whirlpool eddy lines. Overall a good spot to test out Bills Jackson Villan.

A good spot to checkout could be the Britannia side of Deschene there are wave over there that are visible from Aylmer.
