Title: Paddling Ottawa Middle Channel Saturday October 13/ temp and water levels

Level is as of Today.

Prediction is fair. Dry suit temperature

Meet at River Run for 11:30am or at Eagleston Park and Ride for 10am
Dress warmly, dry suit recommended!
Post here if you plan on attending and or Carpooling.

Perfect level for the Middle channel ...
and there is no take-out fee ...

At 11 degrees and water around 15 degrees. .. which is much better than Spring padding conditions. and the fall colours should be nice.

Are you seeing who is interested for Saturday????

Hi Larry,

That is a yes!
Hoping to see some people tomorrow at Whispers to confirm plans but yes that level is ideal for the Middle Channel.

I think we could do a lateish start say meet at RR for 11:30, which should see us paddle during the warmest time of day.

now is past tense --- currently 10 and rising ... but should level off later Friday since there is no more rain in the forecast ..

RR main gate is closed --- but the access road to the once "free takeout" is open

Wow! Great day. Level was 15.25 on the gauge. This means that we all ran down McKoy's rapid in a straight line, no need to manoeuver at all! Always a bit strange when you can see the water below the rapid while approaching it. Phil's Hole looked like a nice surf wave. We got some entertainment when Bruce ran Garvin's chute and spent a bit of time visiting each hole along the way... Water was still very warm and everybody (16 of us) got off the river with a smile.
