The Laurentians are too long a drive from Kingston but I'm definitely up for the Upper Pet this weekend, Sat or Sunday  Living 40 minutes from the border I'm always up a New York state run.

If the level holds the Doncaster sounds good to me on Saturday. The temp is supposed to be like 27 C, so a long hike on the Upper Pet from take out to put in with spring paddling gear at that high temp and I'm thinking I'll reserve the Pet for another weekend.

A bit of beta regarding access: as Larry mentioned in a previous post, the park is not officially open yet, which means the road to the rail bed is not maintained right now.  There were downed trees across the road as far as we could see, so expect to hike pretty well the whole length of river to get to the put in.  At least the temperature around now is agreeable for a long haul in.

Great level though and a super fun day.  Poplar Falls was great at this level as was everything from Devil's Cellar on.

.......is awesome. 

I am looking to head back to the Laurentians this weekend (Doncaster/Du Nord) but could be convinced to go back to the Upper Pet one day.....(Class 4+, in snow, remote, long hike)
