Anyone interested in paddling it this week?  Looks like it should continue to come up through the week.  I could be out there Thursday after work for a little park and huck!

As of tonight 6pm the rock is completely covered.  Nice fluffy pillow. Water level should continue to rise.  Tomorrow or Thursday should be peaked.

And this is what it looked like on the weekend.  Just a bit more padded up.

On the weekend, almost all of the rock in this photo was covered.  The pyramid rock on the far right in the photo was a rooster tail with plenty of water over it (but it would also likely piton you).  The area right underneath it is normally a big pile of rock.  The rock pile was fully underwater, but likely just under the surface so don't go there.   The pool river right to it looked padded enough provided you don't plug it.

There was a very obvious line to the (river) right of that rock, with a natural boof flake off that slab and plenty of flow projecting out to help you boof the landing and hole at the bottom.  Pencilling would likely not be fun.  You could run the left line under the bridge, slip the left side of a guardian hole in the middle and you would be lined up for the boof.

That's what I saw anyway  :)

Is the mill drop runnable?  I have only seen it at low levels, but would be keen to take a look if it can be run. It looked like a terrible landing at low levels, but I definatly saw potential in it!

I was at the Wakefield Inn on the weekend and the Mill rapid looked good to go.

I ran the lapeche this spring and found it a bit of rocky ride.  I live 2 minutes from the mill at the takeout.
I will be mountain biking the trail this summer and taking pictures at low water of the 2 most significant rapids.  Did not run these this spring sincE ice on the banks limited scouting ability. Will post pictures this summer.

My estimations for classes here are based on the level that day (last Sunday after some significant rains), water temp, and some wood issues in the river. The top of drop in that section is really two drops and together they make for a class 5. There may be a decent line through them both down the right side, but there are some obstacles in between them that could throw one offline and then things would get ugly. I talked to a a local canoeist up there who described this as a ~20 ft waterfall.....I had been expecting more.

Putting in immediately below that drop (a quad trail along river left makes for an easy portage but take out early to avoid steep banks) and the next 400-500 metres I would class as 3+ if not 4. It is continuous, there is a tricky drop where the river bends sharply to the left, and once one comes out of that (pic 4 from above) there is some wood in the river.

After that section there is another 1+ km of class 2+ (wood issues, etc. would dictate that one should have much better boat handling skills that before tackling a high flow paddle through here though).

The following pics are from the top section of the river. The first one just gives a general indication of the environment through there and the second and third is of a small set of rapids that end with a partial log jam coming out of the left bank and a fair amount of water is flowing through it. It would be way easy to avoid the log jam for experienced paddlers, but !!!!!!

Well that took a long time to solve! Those shots were taken ~3 km above the highway 105 bridge. It looked like it would be a decent nearby paddle once in a blue moon. You ever done it Bill, or was that just a logical guess?

Would need to paddle some swiftish flat water for 3-4 km in order to get to the good stuff or hike 500+ metres from another access point. There is a fair amount of wood hazard in the river!!
