Free camping (like campgrounds i mean) is hard to find these days if not near impossible..

Since they shut down the camping du rocher fendu where the dam is on the Ottawa below McKoys, I just head out there with a canoe and find an island to camp on.. there are millions...About an hour from Aylmer.

Otherwise...not sure....

it's not free.

Hi,

Does anybody know a few good camping spots near ottawa (Ont or Qc)?

Ideally free...

would be greatly appreciated.

(I know its not directly whitewater related, but it could help a few other people too...)

Salut Chuck

Well I'm hoping to find something within a 45 min drive from ottawa or gatineau...

And the gatineau parc is NCC so its about 40$ + camping entering fees, I'm not that down with that...

Will keep Poisson blanc in mind for another time, it looks nice, thanks.

How near? Lac du Poisson Blanc is crown land, i.e. free.

There are also a few spots at Lac La P?che, parc de la Gatineau.
