Hi,
I have paddled the Foresters Fall section of the Ottawa once before, from my understanding of the paddle shack I can get a boat for 2pm and use it for the day then return it before 12am...so it would be nice to get a full day in with the rental boat.

thanks, Leigh

Hi Leigh.

Christian is right.. not much surf around Ottawa city at this time of year. As for the Ottawa in Foresters falls, a few of us often paddle it suring the week. As for renting a boat and paddle, Try Paddleshack in Ottawa, it will run you about 35$ a day.

Might be able to get off work and paddle. not sure yet? Will it be your first time on the Ottawa?

Hello. The only wave worth surfing in town is the so-called Remic wave. It is worth it, smooth and glassy, but the river level is not low enough to allow 'eddy access' (well, walking back up in the middle of the river...). So every time you blow off, you need to land on the Quebec side and walk back up. Typically after 3 times, people call it a day...

As for Beachburg/Forrester Falls, it's always a possibility, but days are getting shorter: in two weeks the Sun will set at 7 pm almost exactly.

Hi,
I am an experienced whitewater kayaker and I would be interested in paddling either this Monday during the day or evening of Sept 9th, or on Tuesday Sept. 10 I would like to go surfing on some waves in Ottawa, or paddle the Ottawa river in Foresters Falls. I need to either borrow a boat and paddle, or rent them and get a ride since I am just in Ottawa visiting from B.C.

sincerely,
Leigh Herbert
