Actually the CdB July weekend has fallen on the second weekend in July, and the Rouge Jamboree has been the first weekend in July the past several years. There are so many other events such as Bluesfest, other paddling events, cottage parties and summer vacation travel that can also conflict. The CdB tries to post the dates of our events as early as possible in the year so members can plan their schedule if they wish to attend CdB's events.

Very sad we seem to have our Ottawa River weekend in parallel - maybe we could try to avoid this in the future - it hasn't been like that in the past - just a thought...

Looking back, we did the ottawa weekend last year on the july 11-13 weekend, and the rouge jamboree was generally held the weekend before. So they changed it this year. I don't know if there is much we could have done to foresee that.
