First time I've side-surfed and back-surfed. Didn't mean to, but hey, I'll take it. Didn't capsize, didn't swim and even rescued a Jackson tandem filled with water. (Word to the wise, bring a bailer. A tandem kayak filled with water is kinda heavy.)

I'd also like to thank Sarah for rescuing my backpack when it fell from the wall and started floating away....Thanks Sarah D.

Finally got to paddle with the CdB. Had a gas. Thanks for the nachos and thank you for sharing your wings Tibor.

There were 6 of us, Louis, Tibor, Renny, Dominique, Dave and myself, plus Robert, who got a private one on one clinic beforehand. We all learned new things about our paddling techniques and all of us improved. Louis is now spinning! Dave is practically blunting, I'm closer to blunting too. Dominique is more comfortable in the froth, Tibor is getting longer surfs and Renny is exploring the concept of getting on the second wave for the first time. Sarah D wasn't officially in our group but did get three spins on the wave today, so watch out Sandra K, for next year's Ottawa Cup, she's gunning for you! Ben is a good teacher and for the price ($10 for a minimum of 4 paddlers for 2 hours!, priceless) and I would recommend him to anyone who wants to improve his basic or more advanced playboating techniques.

Paul :)
